FAQ
What are the benefits of massage therapy?
Massage has many benefits that improve the quality of life for a client. Some benefits include lower stress, increased immune function, improve circulation, boost mental health and wellness, improved range of motion, reduce pain and tension, lower blood pressure, etc.

When should I avoid getting a massage?
There are some conditions that would prevent someone from receiving massage. If you have a serious medical condition and you are unsure if you can receive massage, we advise you to speak to your physician first and receive a physician's release form, which our business has the right to ask before starting any session. Any client with a contagious condition including common cold, influenza, stomach flu, coronavirus, meningitis, shingles, etc. at the time of their appointment will be needing to reschedule their appointment after the contagious condition has been resolved.

How often should I get a massage?
It is recommended to receive a massage at least once a month depending on the amount of stress and tension someone is experiencing. Everyone is different - someone may need to receive a massage once a week or a few times a week to help with muscle tension and soreness.

What do you wear for a massage? Do I have to completely undress?
We advise our clients to dress down to their comfort level. Some clients choose to wear their undergarments, while others will not. Either option is perfectly fine - it is based on the comfort of our clients! Clients will be appropriately draped with a sheet and/or blanket at all times during their massage. Only areas of the body that are currently being treated will be exposed. The breast and genital areas will always remain draped and are never massaged.

Do I have to leave a tip?
Leaving a tip is not required and is entirely optional. Tipping is a way to express appreciation towards the therapist for the service they have provided. For most people, tipping percentages range from 15%-25% depending on their level on satisfaction with their treatment.

What if I need to terminate the session while actively getting a massage?
All clients will be treated with respect and dignity. Personal and professional boundaries will be respected at all times. At any point throughout the session, the client or the therapist has the right to terminate the session. Only professional massage and bodywork services for relaxation or therapeutic purposes are offered at this massage practice. Massage services will be terminated immediately in the event of inappropriate conduct of any kind. This includes harassment, threatening speech or behavior, sexual advances or requests, or disrespectful actions or language. A session will not be conducted if the client is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If the massage is terminated for any of these reasons, full payment for the scheduled session is still required.

When should I arrive for my session?
We recommend arriving at least five minutes before your scheduled appointment time if you completed the necessary intake forms online or at least ten minutes before if you did not fill out paperwork beforehand to ensure you get the full time of your session. All scheduled appointments will end at the scheduled ending time in order for us to stay on schedule. Clients who arrive late to their scheduled appointment will be charged for the full session and will not receive a time extension.

Do you have an ingredient list of products used? Allergies to laundry detergent?
If you have sensitive skin or allergies to certain ingredients that may be used in our lotions, oils, or creams, we can provide an ingredient list to ensure you will not have a reaction to any of our products. Our sheets and blankets are not used with hypoallergenic detergent and are used with bleach to ensure our sheets are thoroughly clean. You are more than welcome to bring your own twin sheets from home if you believe you may have a reaction to our supplied sheets.

Do you accept insurance?
No, we do not take insurance nor work with insurance companies.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major debit and credit cards, as well as Venmo and cash.

Can a minor get a massage?
Yes, we ask that minors are over the age of 14 and a parent or guardian must remain in the treatment room for the duration of the minor's massage session. A parent or guardian, the client, or the massage therapist may terminate the session at any time.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?
We understand things come up that can be out of our control. We ask for at least 24 hours notice to your original start time of the appointment to cancel or reschedule. Cancelling with less than 24 hours notice will result in a cancellation fee of half the service amount. No call/no shows or appointments cancelled with less than an hours notice will be charged the full service amount. If using a gift certificate, the amount can be deducted from that and any remainder, if any left, will be able to be applied to future services or deposits.
